Hands-on representational family sculpture is non-threatening and multi-sensory. The KST provides a narrative means to quickly engage clients in the processes of assessment and change. The technique is empowering: the client is in charge in sculpting his own experience. It works with persons of any age, including those with varying degrees of verbal skills or insight and with oppositional tendencies. 
Settings where used
The KST is an
effective and efficient resource in a variety of settings: schools, social service agencies and community clinics, in residential treatment, and in family practice, day-treatment and hospitals, and in transitional living settings. Applications also include pedagogy and research in a range of professional programs.
